“Amazing experience in Tuscany”

Arriving at Torre del Tartufo was waking up in a dream. It is a beautiful villa up on a remote hill. The rooms are comfortable with beautiful views of the valley. The cooking lessons are fun, informative and hard work. Chef Franco is an excellent teacher. He ensures everyone is involved in every step of the cooking. Paula is always on hand to help us. All the recipes were wonderful and with a few tips from Franco, I will be able to cook Tuscan food with confidence. It was a surprise to see our cooking efforts turn into incredible four course dinners, lunches and afternoon teas. Every night we enjoyed local wines and looked forward to Franco bringing the glasses for Italian liquers and Limocello. We were fortunate to make lovely new friends. On Saturday afternoon Franco took us truffle hunting with a hound named Billy. We followed Billy in the forest and he found five truffles. In the evening Franco served the truffles with cheese over potatoes. Fortunately, we had lovely weather and enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub. Some days we visited local medieval towns. Montepulciano was my favourite.The Tuscan sunsets were beautiful and every night different cloud formations formed beautiful sunsets. The week went by very quickly and soon it was time to come home and wake up from my dream. Thank you to the team at Torre del Tartufo for making this amazing experience an unforgettable holiday.
