Itinerary of the one week Italian Cooking schools

Immerse yourself in the culture and lifestyle of Tuscany.  Choose from one of our two Italian cooking schools and learn to cook authentic Italian dishes, having fun and making friends for life, all while staying in one of our spectacular villas, Casa Ombuto or Torre del Tartufo. During your one week Italian Cooking vacation you will have Italian cooking lessons on 4 of the days. For dinner you will dine on your creations accompanied by delicious wines to compliment the dishes. We introduce you each evening to different red and white wines from different regions of Italy. The program allows you enough time to relax and enjoy the surroundings or to do some sightseeing in the area. A full-day culinary excursion is included.

The itinerary for the one week Italian cooking vacation:

First Day
  • Arrival at Florence airport
    We can arrange transfers to and from Florence airport on request.
  • Check-in at the villa from 16:00 onwards
  • Welcoming dinner at 20:00
    Introduction given by the chef and a chance to get to know each other.

Second Day
  • Breakfast
  • Morning free to relax and enjoy the villa
  • Light lunch for those who are present
  • First Cooking lesson starts at 15:00
  • Dinner

Third day
  • Buffet breakfast
  • Morning free for sightseeing or relaxing or booking a massage
  • Light lunch for those who are present
  • Second Cooking class – starts at 15:00
  • Dinner

Fourth day
  • Breakfast
  • Departure culinary excursion

During the Italian cookery courses at Casa Ombuto and Torre del Tartufo you will be taken on a full-day culinary excursion with a professional guide who speaks English fluently and will guide you to the source of Tuscan culinary specialties.  It varies depending on which of our two Italian cooking schools you choose.

Casa Ombuto:
You will get the opportunity to explore the charming town of Arezzo for some shopping and sightseeing, pay a visit to a wine estate for a wine tasting and make your way to Anghiari by driving through the breathtaking Tuscan countryside to an olive oil mill, complete with olive oil tasting and lunch.  You will pay a visit to a sheep and goat farm that makes fragrant pecorino cheese and go back to Casa Ombuto after an exciting, fun-filled day to have a light, informal dinner at the villa.

Torre del Tartufo:
The excursion will take you to the ancient medieval village of Anghiari to pay a visit to a unique textile factory.  You will get the opportunity to explore the village through some sightseeing and a walk through the open air market.  You will visit an olive oil mill complete with olive oil tasting and lunch, after which you will make your way to a sheep and goat farm that makes fragrant pecorino cheese.  The day will culminate with a wine tasting and light informal dinner at Torre del Tartufo.

  • Morning free for sightseeing or relaxing at the villa
  • Light lunch for those who are present
  • Third Cooking lesson– starts at 15:00
  • Dinner

Sixth day
  • Breakfast
  • Free day

On the free day, only breakfast is served.  After breakfast you have the day to yourselves to do some sightseeing or just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This is an ideal day to take a trip to Florence for shopping and sightseeing as it's only a 50km drive away, or visit La Verna, an ancient monastery where San Francisco de Assisi lived most of his life. Tip: Our guide can organize and accompany your group on excursions in the area. You also have the option to stay at the villas and relax at the pool or take a dip in the Hot Tub.
Lunch and dinner reservations can be made at a restaurant of your choice.

Seventh day
  • Breakfast
  • Morning free for sightseeing or taking a walk in the countryside
  • Light lunch for those who are present
  • Final cooking lesson – starts at 15:00
    You prepare an elaborate buffet dinner covering all the cooking techniques you have learnt during the week and more. Presentation of food will be demonstrated.

Last day
  • Breakfast
  • Check-out around 10:00
